National Bank of Oman Celebrates Employees’ Growth Through Training

Nurturing a culture of professional growth, National Bank of Oman celebrated the graduation of 105 team members from a number of professional education programmes organized by the Bank’s training and development arm, the Academy of Excellence. Participants who completed the courses were awarded during a ceremony at NBO’s headquarters.

Nurturing a culture of professional growth, National Bank of Oman celebrated the graduation of 105 team members from a number of professional education programmes organized by the Bank’s training and development arm, the Academy of Excellence. Participants who completed the courses were awarded during a ceremony at NBO’s headquarters.

Recognising their efforts, Musallam Kashoub, Head of Human Resources at NBO said “One goal of the Human Resources department has been to build a workforce that is eager to learn and develop. Investing in our human capital is key to both growing our bank and achieve individual progress, this programme is another step in the journey of turning our bank into a learning organization. We are proud of our employees and their commitment, work ethics and achievements.”  

Participants from a number of departments across the Bank received certificates for the completion of the ‘Professional Certification Program’, which included Omega Credit Skills Certification, ACI Treasury Operations, Diploma in Financial Planning, Certified Fraud Examiner and more. NBO’s internal program the ‘Internal Job-based Certification Program’ issued performance-based awards to employees from across the Sultanate, recognizing team members for their hard work.

The ceremony also recognized participants from the Bank’s flagship professional training initiative, the ‘Core Banking Program’. An eight-week-long session aimed at junior staff members, the courses included a number of activities intended to facilitate the growth of NBO’s young talent into the professional bankers. Going beyond traditional avenues of development, the ‘Core Banking Program’ also incorporated a series of case studies, exercises, and hands-on simulations, enabling participants to get an authentic understanding and appreciation of the industries concepts and best practices.
