To effectively manage and supervise a range of operational activities / functions of Branch Operations, in order to support Muzn Corporate and Retail Banking Divisions and the branch Network in the delivery of high quality service to Retail & Corporate customers in line with the Bank’s strategic objectives. Support / guidance to Overseas branches for Operations related issues.

  • Manage the staff assigned to the level determined by senior management.
  • Plan, supervise and control entire range of operational / support activities / functions relating to retail segment of the Bank to achieve delivery of high standard of external and internal customer service in line with the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • The role ensures a high standard of operational control and efficient processing through streamlining / rationalization of systems and procedures, automation, centralization or decentralization initiatives, compliance with the regulatory requirements, follow up on auditrectifications, training branch staff and periodical onsite visits for guidance and monitoring. 
  • Provide an effective and timely operational and administrative service in support of the retail activities.
  • Ensure successful implementation of all projects agreed time frame. Plan the implementation schedule in coordination with the respective Project Managers; Mobilize resources from the respective section to assist the roll out team. Arrange to conduct meaningful User Acceptance Test and ensure fix the bugs. 
  • Provide On Job Training to the branch staff. Ensure smooth operations of system at the branches, thus delivering best customer services at all our branches
  • Formulate and implements of new operational procedures and system developments, arising out of new product / service initiatives by Retail Baking/ Retail Operations , compilation of system user requirement, conduct user testing, and ensures smooth implementation and integration with the existing systems after obtaining approval of the
  • Head Islamic Operations, Corporate & Retail Banking and other concerned divisions including Audit, Compliance and IT divisions
  • Re-engineering of the existing systems and procedures relating to the retail operations and implement the change to improve TAT, efficiency and in line with Sharia approved process.
  • Ensure effective onsite and offsite support to the branches in routine and non-routine operational matters, including administrative service, to facilitate the branches to deliver high standard of uninterrupted service to the retail customers
  • Ensure effectiveness of Business Continuity Plan at all times.
  • Ensure close monitoring of the operational efficiency / performance of the branches and monitoring of transaction costing through onsite supervision, tracking of the error rates, exception transactions, etc. and endeavors to improve the same through appropriate means
  • Plan and coordinate on-the-job trainings to the branch staff on operational matters and new systems/enhancements to improve their operational knowledge / skill sets

  • Exercise effective control over the functioning of the branch operations and support section
  • Responsible for overall operational risk relating to retail banking operations.
  • Continually supervise workflows in these areas to achieve improved risk controls
  • Provide input to the Head Islamic Operations for development of the annual departmental budget and monitors performance against approved levels within own Section, ensuring any variances are appropriately addressed
  • Develop a positive people environment and motivates the staff to enable them to meet objectives and achieve self-development.
  • Undertake frequent one to one feedback sessions and deliver half year & annual appraisals
  • MIS /Budget monitoring & reporting.
  • Audit follow-up and its rectification within the agreed timeframe.
  • Supervising specialized activities such as branch opening/merging/closing in Oman.

​A Diploma in Banking / Finance. A first degree is preferable.

10+ years banking experience with at least 5 years as the Head of Branch Operations with a sound background in implementation of Islamic Banking new processes and automation projects, strong leadership abilities, effective written and verbal communication skills and good PC skills.
