National Bank of Oman wins ‘Oman Asset Manager of the Year’ at MENA Fund Manager Performance Awards 2015

​National Bank of Oman was recently announced as the "Oman Asset Manager of the Year" at the MENA Fund Manager Performance Awards 2015.  Led by National Bank of Oman's Deputy General Manager and Deputy Head of Wholesale Banking, Sayyid Wasfi bin Jamshid Al Said, a team of senior management members collected the award at a ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton DIFC, Dubai, and attended by leading figures from the Middle East's financial community.

National Bank of Oman was recently announced as the "Oman Asset Manager of the Year" at the MENA Fund Manager Performance Awards 2015.  Led by National Bank of Oman's Deputy General Manager and Deputy Head of Wholesale Banking, Sayyid Wasfi bin Jamshid Al Said, a team of senior management members collected the award at a ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton DIFC, Dubai, and attended by leading figures from the Middle East's financial community.

 National Bank of Oman won the prestigious award for its prolific track record of demonstrating innovation and delivering success over the last 12 months. This is the third consecutive year that National Bank of Oman has won the esteemed recognition at the MENA FM Awards. Many leadings banks and asset managers from the Sultanate competed with National Bank of Oman in the 'Oman Asset Manager of the Year' category. The Bank was also shortlisted for the "Best newcomer fund" category against very strong regional competition, demonstrating the quality of its GCC fund and its attractiveness to both retail and institutional investors alike.

The MENA Fund Manager Performance Awards are presented to firms based on overall fund performance, along with a wide range of qualitative and structural benchmarks. The honours are decided by a judging panel representing a cross-section of the industry's leading institutional and private investors, as well as industry experts. The sixth annual MENA Fund Manager Performance Awards recognise the region's leaders in fund management and the revered Performance Awards is the single largest gathering of fund managers in the industry's calendar.   

The bank won the accolade having launched the "National Bank of Oman GCC Fund," an open-ended equity fund that invests in high impact companies in the region, in 2014.  It was the largest equity fund in Oman by capital and NAV that year.  The bank's asset management division offers unparalleled opportunities for investors, including pension funds, institutional investors and retail investors, who reap the benefits of long-term regular returns through dividends and capital growth, with relatively low downsides in weak market conditions.
